After enjoying the tea with unlimited scrumptious cakes, we were regally entertained by Jacqui Simpson as Britannia and everyone joined in to much flag waving.
This exciting day began when many of our Church Members joined the vast crouds lining the streets, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Olympic Torch in Skegness
A long and enjoyable parade of police and other support vehicles heralded the torch. Following behind was a carnival parade of magnificantly dressed performers.
A truely lovely tea was prepared to celebrate both the arrival of the Olympic Torch and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and over 50 members and friends sat down to enjoy it.
JUBILYMPICS TEA
A very big thank you to Jayne Hopps for organising this memorable event and to all those who helped with the preparation. Together with the raffle and sale of cakes a sum well in excess of £300 was raised for church funds
This event gave everyone a great opportunity to celebrate and reminisce. Here I think Mavis is telling Tony about a few of Roy's bad habits
