On Friday 22nd October, pupils of the Magdalen School at Wainfleet came to the church on a mock ' wartime evacuation' as a part of their studies.
The pupils had spent a lot of time making all the accessories so that the event felt as authentic as possible.
Mock
'Wartime Evacuation'
Once the pupils had dressed up as evacuees they carried their carefully made gasmasks, parcels, labels and other items to the assembly point at Wainfleet Station where they were to travel by train to Skegness
Much anticipation as they arrived at Skegness Station
The event went really well, the children loved the experience and so did the people at the Church coffee morning who spent quite some time talking with the children about their wartime experiences, from flying in the Lancasters to Code Cracking at Bletchley Park.
