CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL

Over the weekend of 9th, 10th & 11th December we held our 4th annual Christmas Tree Festival.
At 10.30 am on Friday there was an "Opening Service" and the Christmas Tree lights were officially turned on by the Deputy Mayor Cllr. Phil Kemp
Holy Lord, we come with joy to celebrate the birth of your Son, who rescued us from the darkness of sin by making the cross a tree of life and light.

May these trees, arrayed in spendour, remind us of the life-giving cross of Christ, that we may always rejoice in the new life that shines in our hearts.

We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen
Preparation had been going on all week and on the Wednesday and Thursday before, the trees were decorated
The Community Hall was prepared for an Art Exhibition with Charity and Church fundraising stalls
The wonderful display of decorated trees which were again so different from previous years with many hand made decorations and original ideas. For the first time table decorations formed part of the festival.
" O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!  How richly God has decked thee "
As dusk fell each evening the magic of the festival was revealed to just a few and was missed by so many!!
A big thankyou to Neil & Sue Baxter for organising this festival and to their large band of helpers who put many hours of work into making this event successful. Thanks also to all the keen decorators for giving us such a wonderful show.
The winning Tree, given the most votes by visitors, was decorated by Sharon & Terry Rippon and entitled   "Wings of a Dove"
